23-25 January 2004: Exhibition at Aldwych, disused tube station, "Call me when you get here," showing Whoosh (sculpture, sound and texture), placed in the station lift.
October 2003: Exhibition at Thames View School, Gravesend, Kent. "The Sure Sight Exhibition".
11-29 August 2003: The Diorama Gallery London, "Artist's with Different Visions".
July 2003: Exhibition at County Hall, Maidstone, Kent. "A Celebration of Ability" as part of the celebrations for the Year of the Disabled Person.
February 2003 to June 2003: Exhibition at Trinity College of Music. Made several pieces of art for a project with Angela Purll (a student at Trinity College of Music) where the work would be felt but not seen and the participants would then make music based on the art they had felt.
November 2002 to March 2004: Exhibition of photographs and tactile photographs at RNIB, Judd Street, London.
May 2002: Lights Out exhibition at the Gallery, ex-public hall, Stoke Newington Library. As a member of a group of seven artists.
April 2002: Invited by the Director of the Isle of Wight Society for the Blind to provide a tactile art exhibition of my work, as a central feature of their Golden Jubilee festival of sight and sound. I produced all exhibit labels and catalogues in braille and large print.
July 2001: Fresh Art Show at the Business and Design centre London. Some of my video work was shown at this group exhibition.
June 2001: Final degree show at University of Hertfordshire (external). This group exhibition was open to the public.
November 1999: Exhibition of art work at SNAp (the special needs association at Loughborough Students Union). This exhibition formed part of SNAp's disability awareness week, and was the first time I had sent off my work to an exhibition and not been responsible for displaying it myself.
June 1998: Final show at Kent Institute of Art and Design, Rochester, Kent. This group exhibition was open to the public and members of the college. My work received newspaper coverage in Kent Today (1 June 1998), The Kent Messenger (5 June 1998), Medway News (5 June 1998) and Adscene (12 June 1998).
September 1997: Exhibition of art work at Kent Association for the Blind, Bromley, Kent. This local exhibition entirely of my work at the local blind association was open to the public. I supervised and directed entirely the selecting and positioning of my works, and prepared the programme and labelling in various formats. This exhibition received radio coverage and discussion by Radio 4's In Touch (9 September 1997) and newspaper coverage by the Bromley and Beckenham Times (Kentish Times) (4 September 1997).
June 1997: Exhibition of art work at Kent Association for the Blind, Tunbridge Wells, Kent. This local exhibition entirely of my work at the local blind association was open to the public. I supervised and directed entirely the selecting and positioning of my works, and prepared the programme and labelling in various formats. This exhibition was opened by Barry Took, received television coverage on Meridian's local news (27 June 1997) and newspaper coverage in the Tunbridge Wells Courier.
April 1997: Exhibition of art work at Farnborough Eye Hospital, Farnborough, Kent. This local exhibition entirely of my work at a local eye hospital was open to patients and staff of and visitors to the hospital. I supervised and directed entirely the selecting and positioning of my works, and prepared the programme and labelling in various formats. This exhibition received front-page newspaper coverage by Interlink (May/June 1997).
May/June 1996: Exhibition of A-level art work at RNIB New College, Worcester. This local exhibition entirely of my work was open to students, staff and governors of and visitors to the school. This exhibition received newspaper coverage in the Evening News.
June 2007: Tideway Sailability (external): Produced and proofread leaflets.
April 2007: Tideway Sailability (external): Advised on and produced tactile dock plans.
April 2004 onwards: Vocaleyes (external): Proofreading for Vocaleyes - audio description of theatre performances.
November 2003: Vocaleyes (external): Working with Vocaleyes training describers for new audio description at Greenwich Theatre.
2 July 2003: Disability Arts in Croydon (external): Gave a talk about my work with visual and tactile examples to a group of disabled people.
20 May 2003: Talking Images conference: Working in partnership with Vocaleyes (external) on a workshop titled "Eltham Palace site visit: constructing an audio tour".
16 May 2003: Disability Arts in Croydon (external): Ran tactile photography workshop.
April 2003: futuredream.net: Took part in a website accessibility audit.
January 2003 onwards: Living Paintings Trust: Visually impaired editor for this organisation who make tactile images of paintings for visually impaired people.
18 December 2002: Art Through Touch (external): Gave a talk about my work with tactile examples to a group of visually impaired people.
October-November 2002: Helen Hamlin Research Centre, Royal College of Art: Extensive work with the C System (a design for making tactile clothes labels so that blind people could independently tell what colour and size garments are) with Coley Porter Bell. As part of the Design Business Association (DBA) challenge. The C System won the challenge.
December 2001 onwards: Royal National Institute of the Blind (external): On behalf of the RNIB I have been campaigning for audio description on television and better public library facilities for visually impaired people. For this work I was awarded the certificate for the RNIB Best Practice Awards 2002.
October-November 2001: Helen Hamlin Research Centre, Royal College of Art: I was involved in various user groups for the Design Business Association (DBA) challenge. There were five companies taking part of which I attended user groups of three. The company which interested me the most had the challenge of designing an accessible park. I appeared on their presentation video. Their project won the challenge. The purpose of the user groups was to provide the companies taking part with useful ideas which could help meet the needs of a wide range of disabilities. The groups provided a useful experience of working within a multi-disability setting.
March 2000 to June 2001: National Centre for Tactile Diagrams (external): I was involved in sorting and cataloguing tactile diagrams, offering suggestions for improvements and I was featured in their presentation promotional material.
March 1995: Worcester Social Services: During this time I visited clients and shadowed a social worker within the office.
March 1995: Worcestershire Association for the Blind: I talked to the Association leader and visitors about the services provided, learned about the specialist equipment and activities that are provided within their centre for blind people.
September 1994 to July 1995: Young Enterprise Company: I was involved in this successful company which reached the regional finals, my roles included sales manager and product manager.
